How much am I being charged for solid waste? |
The current charge for one can is $33.17 per month. If you need a second can, it is an addition $16.68 per month. If you are interested in a second can, please call Utility Billing at (916) 434-2430 and they can assist you. |
What should I do with medical waste? |
Medical waste should be taken to the Materials Recovery Facility at 3195 Athens Blvd. |
What should I do with electronic waste? |
Electronic waste can be taken to the Materials Recovery Facility at 3195 Athens Blvd.
Also, you can call Public Works at (916) 434-2450 and schedule a free pickup. Electronic / Universal Waste pickups are performed every Wednesday for items that contain both a circuit board and a plug. Automotive fluids and used cooking oil can also be picked up. |
What should I do with cardboard? |
Cardboard can be recycled at the Materials Recovery Facility or at either of the two cardboard recycling locations:

Are cans serviced on holidays? |
Holidays which fall on a weekday are serviced as normal. |
What Should I Do if I Forget to Put Out My Can? |
Please complete the Public Services Request Form to schedule a return pickup. The fee is $29.00 per can. |
How can I apply for a temporary 3-yard bin? |
Residents that have an active utility account, can apply for a temporary 3-yard bin. Go to the Request for Utility Services page and review the bin information. |
